Since joining the firm in 2019, Reihaneh Sarraf, PhD, SE has made a major impact within our Seismic Evaluation & Retrofit department. As a Senior Project Engineer, she has been involved in numerous seismic retrofit projects that have required her technical expertise including the Westchester Medical Plaza – a non-ductile concrete moment frame building, and the Arcadia Hilton Hotel, a pre-Northridge steel moment frame building.

Currently, she is working on a 14-story non-ductile concrete building located in Encino, developing the retrofit scheme to comply with the Los Angeles ordinance as well as a high-rise condominium project located in the City of Los Angeles where she is assisting with a comprehensive analysis and preparation of structural construction documents for voluntary strengthening.

In addition to her seismic projects, Reihaneh is involved in many professional engagements including guest speaking at the AAUW Stem Conference in February 2024. She is also a member of the SEAOSC (Structural Engineers Association of Southern California) EBC committee and PN-SMF subcommittee.

In her career thus far, she’s most proud of her contribution to enhancing our community’s resiliency by providing retrofit solutions for existing buildings. In this pursuit, she leverages her strong technical background, deep knowledge of structure’s nonlinear response, and advanced technologies to deliver comprehensive yet cost-effective designs.
