Rick Beall, S.E., LEED AP began his structural engineering career at Bole & Wilson, Inc. in 1985, where he spent 15 years building relationships with architects and clients across the education, healthcare, senior living, multifamily, and civic sectors. Following Bole & Wilson’s merger with MHP in 2000, Rick joined the firm as a Project Manager and has since played an integral role in its growth and success. Today, he is one of three Principals leading MHP’s Design & Renovation team, overseeing education, healthcare, and multifamily projects while helping manage staffing and resources across the Long Beach and San Diego offices.
With more than 40 years of industry experience, Rick remains actively involved in project management and is passionate about mentoring engineers within MHP and throughout the profession.
Rick’s primary focus is healthcare projects, including new construction, medical equipment anchorage, tenant improvements, and seismic compliance work. He is currently leading numerous NPC 4D, NPC 5, and SPC 4D upgrades at hospital campuses throughout Southern California, helping facilities meet California’s seismic safety requirements while maintaining uninterrupted patient care operations.
Beyond his project responsibilities, Rick is active in Leadership Long Beach and the ACE Mentor Program, helping introduce students to careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.
Within MHP, Rick is known as the firm’s unofficial “social coordinator,” organizing employee gatherings and client events that contribute to the strong culture and lasting relationships that define the company.
Outside the office, Rick enjoys spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren, along with skiing, golfing, yoga, hiking, and biking.
We are grateful for Rick’s continued leadership and contributions to MHP. Since joining the firm in 2000, he has remained a trusted leader whose dedication to our people, clients, and projects has helped shape the firm’s success and culture.
