The Shores was built on the beach in Santa Monica in the late 1960s and encompasses two, 17-story non-ductile concrete (NDC) residential towers totaling 465,000 sq ft.  The mirror image buildings are each constructed over two-levels of subterranean parking.

MHP assembled a team to conduct in-situ materials testing and perform geotechnical and seismic hazard studies. MHP is currently conducting detailed ASCE 41 performance-based linear and non-linear analyses to assess strengthening needs pursuant to City of Santa Monica NDC Ordinance requirements
