Zizhao (Zee) He, S.E. joined MHP in 2018 after gaining valuable experience with other engineering firms. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Beijing University and an M.S. in Structural/Earthquake Engineering from UCLA.
As a Senior Project Engineer, Zizhao plays a key role in engineering design and construction administration. Through his dedication, he has helped elevate both design and construction quality while strengthening client relationships. His experience spans a wide range of project types, including equipment anchorage, tenant improvements, multifamily, education, and healthcare. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, Zizhao was honored with SEAOSC (Structural Engineers Association of Southern California) Young Engineer of the Year award in 2021.
Some of his recent work includes serving as Project Engineer for the new Jordan High School Gymnasium, where he completed the structural design, including clerestory roof trusses and CMU wall systems. He also served as Project Engineer for the Scanlon Early Education Center and the Henry Elementary School Reconstruction, leading the structural design for both projects. Additionally, Zizhao worked on the LACCD LAMC Building IA and Campus Center Seismic Evaluation, where he analyzed existing structures using 3D computer models in accordance with ASCE 41 seismic evaluation criteria and prepared structural reports and presentations to inform the District’s important capital improvement decisions.
Currently, Zizhao is working on several projects, including the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course Clubhouse, the Kern County Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit, and Downey USD’s San Gabriel Elementary School modernization.
Outside of the office, Zizhao enjoys biking with friends and spending time with his family and 6-year-old son, often visiting local bakeries together.
We are grateful for Zi’s dedication over the past eight years and his willingness to take on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors. His continued growth inspires younger engineers, and we look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in the year ahead.
