Shawn Alvira first joined MHP in 1998, and over the past 27 years, his leadership has been vital to the success of our CAD-BIM Drafting team. His commitment has improved drawing quality and consistency while increasing efficiency in drafting and modeling.

Recently, Shawn spearheaded a drafting QA/QC program with checklists and a predictable review tempo, boosting first-pass quality and minimizing rework. He has also fostered clear communication and leadership roles within the drafting group, helping the team identify risks early and share best practices.

Shawn’s current projects span a range of exciting work: Target new store and remodel programs, creating documents for seismic retrofits and equipment anchorage upgrades on multiple NPC and SPC projects across Long Beach, Lakewood, Palm Springs, and Indio, CA. He is also contributing to new buildings and retrofits at Mt. San Antonio College, Long Beach City College, and various Long Beach Unified School District high schools, along with HVAC upgrades at numerous K–12, college, civic, and commercial sites.

Outside the office, Shawn balances mindful living with music, movement, hiking, reading, and yoga.

We’re incredibly grateful for Shawn’s steadfast dedication and the invaluable support he provides to both his team and MHP.
