Kiersten Bakke joined MHP in August of 2018, after graduating from UCSD with a Masters of Science in Structural Engineering. Kiersten has undertaken a wide variety of projects, including new design, retrofits, and equipment anchorage. For the last 5 years, she has been a part of our full-time staff out of our San Diego office.

Her most recent accomplishment is the renovation of the Cerritos College Health Sciences Building. The project consisted of a tenant improvement and seismic retrofit of an existing building on the Cerritos campus. Kiersten was involved from the beginning of design through the end of construction administration. The project is now nearing completion.

Currently, she is working on multiple NPC (Nonstructural Performance Category) projects for both Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs, CA, and JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, CA, evaluating various equipment to determine potential anchorage upgrades. In addition, she is working on the modernization of Mission Bay High School in San Diego, which includes major renovations and seismic upgrades of multiple buildings on campus as well as site work including canopies, monument signs, and fencing. Kiersten has also played a major role in our equipment anchorage group for both the San Diego and Long Beach offices, assisting on various challenging projects.

Outside of the office, Kiersten enjoys baking, enjoying the outdoors, playing tennis and spikeball, and will “Always be rooting for the San Francisco Giants!”

We are proud of the work Kiersten has contributed to MHP, and we look forward to her continued growth in the Structural Engineering profession.
