Kaylee Hernandez first joined MHP as an intern in the summer of 2021 before coming on full-time as a Design Engineer in our San Diego office in 2022. Since then, she’s gained valuable experience working on a diverse range of projects across California.

One of her most recent achievements is passing the PE exam this October — officially becoming a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California! 🎉

Kaylee recently completed the design for the new theater building at the Mammoth Arts & Cultural Center, where she’s now providing construction support. She also secured DSA approval for the Johnson Elementary School Modernization project, which included the seismic evaluation and analysis of five existing buildings and the design of a new classroom building.

Her current work includes the new athletic building at Fullerton Union High School (recently submitted to DSA for approval) and the Mission Bay High School Modernization project.

Outside of work, Kaylee’s dedication extends beyond engineering. She recently volunteered in Tijuana with friends through the Doxa organization, helping build a home for a local family.

Kaylee holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. When she’s not engineering, you can find her traveling, spending time at the beach, cooking, baking, or making a visit to the zoo.

We are proud of Kaylee’s dedication to her career and her continued growth as part of the MHP team.
