MHP is in the process of providing structural design and coordination for a new $35 million central plant for an existing hospital and future four story tower. The Central Utility plant is two stories, 12,000 square feet with steel framed floors and roof and solid grouted masonry bearing and shear walls. The foundation system for this building consist of a mat foundation due to expansive soils.
The central plant equipment includes chillers and boilers at the foundation level, cooling towers at the 2nd floor level and electrical equipment at both the first floor and roof. An underground utility corridor connects the utilities from the central plant to a tower adjacent to a bridge that carries the utilities over a private road connecting to the existing one/two story hospital.
Also included in scope of project is a TES tank designed by others, pad mounted emergency generators, and underground storage and fuel tanks.
