The Maintenance & Operations Facility project includes a new maintenance shop, warehouse, and office building to accommodate the anticipated growth of the 50+ year old campus.  In addition to the new building, the project included the M&O yard with parking shelters and ground keeper’s storage building. The main building, housing shop and office functions alongside an expansive warehouse, features a 4,300 square foot heavy duty storage mezzanine and the campus Emergency Operations Center. Using varied CMU patterning for the exterior wall along with tinted glazing systems and architectural metal panels, the exterior of the structure continues the campus’ master planning efforts to enhance the overall campus.

Located in an area of historic agricultural use, sub-soil conditions, including the potential for liquefaction, required the use of deep foundation caissons with interconnecting grade beams. The superstructure utilized the CMU exterior and interior walls for both vertical load bearing and lateral load resistance. Floor and roof systems consist of metal roof decks supported by open-web steel joists and concrete filled metal deck at the mezzanine.
