The Bellingham Elementary School project consists of three new buildings of varying types of construction. Site items include new canopies and lunch shelters.
Building C is a two-story Type II classroom building over subterranean parking. Framing consists of steel composite beams supporting concrete over metal deck at the upper floors and a conventionally reinforced concrete slab at the first floor level over parking. Lateral resistance consists of eccentrically braced steel frames. Building M is a one-story Type II multipurpose building. Roof framing consists of metal deck spanning to long span bent steel beams. Lateral resistance consists of eccentrically braced steel frames. Building R is a one-story Type V teachers’ lounge, with a two-hour fire rated wall adjacent to an existing classroom building.
