9665 Wilshire is a 10-story non-ductile concrete (NDC) office building, constructed in 1971 over four levels of subterranean parking. The office building encloses approximately 171,000 square feet and is located in Beverly Hills, CA. MHP conducted a ASCE 41 Tier 3 evaluation of the building during acquisition and subsequently completed a performance-based, non-linear analysis for the building using time-history records for the specific site conditions. MHP then designed a fluid viscous damper retrofit, which is undergoing construction.
In addition to the retrofit, the project scope also includes exterior modernizations of the lobby, exterior plaza and ground floor elevations of the building, including new entry canopy, landscape, fountain, signage, sculpture relocation, and replacement of portions of the ground floor level glazing/wall system.
