The Capri Apartment complex is a 99 unit waterfront luxury apartment community that exemplifies all that has ever enticed beach lovers to seek a home on the water’s edge. The project consists of four-stories of wood-framed apartments constructed over two levels of partial subterranean parking which utilizes post-tensioned concrete slabs. The project was constructed on a finger of land originally developed in the 1960’s with hydraulic fill confined by quay walls.

The underlying soils on the site consist of an engineered fill crust supported by loose to medium dense soils subject to liquefaction and lateral spreading under seismic loading. The soil and seismic conditions were carefully modeled, and driven piles were selected to support the building under vertical and lateral loading to address the liquefiable soils.
