The strength of MHP lies within the Partners' and Senior Managers' ability to pave the way for excellence through the guidance, experience and talents each contribute to the team.
From 1985, Lance Kenyon has grown with MHP, obtaining his P.E. and S.E. licenses while working as a project engineer, and later as a manager in the design division. In 1999, he shifted the majority of his focus from structural design to the growing due-diligence field of seismic risk evaluations and seismic strengthening of existing buildings. As MHP looks to the future, Lance assumes increased responsibilities for the financial management and oversight of the firm while developing strong, lasting relationships with clients. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in California, and a registered Professional Engineer in Utah, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia.
As the manager of the Seismic Risk division at MHP, Lance works daily with experienced, licensed engineers in evaluating and strengthening buildings of all types and sizes, from single-story industrial buildings to high-rise office towers. His strong background in design and seismic strengthening of buildings brings a unique perspective and valuable insight when evaluating a structure’s response to seismic activity. Through his evaluations, Lance provides critical building and site information to a diversified list of clients, assisting them in making informed decisions based on potential risks to building assets and occupants.
Lance graduated from the University of California, Berkley with a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics, and from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. A native of Long Beach, Lance enjoys spending time with his wife and three children (all swimmers), participating in fitness and outdoor activities and playing drums in his rock band “Hammered Nails”.
